JMS Naval Architects is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
JMS has ambitious growth plans and is recruiting experienced professionals, recent graduates, and interns who demonstrate a commitment to learn, collaborate, and innovate.
As members of our engineering team, JMS employees enjoy active participation in all aspects of vessel design and marine consulting. They are primarily responsible for performing engineering tasks related to the design, repair, and maintenance of commercial vessels such as tugboats, research vessels, tank barges, crane barges, dry docks, passenger vessels, and workboats. Engineering tasks will encompass analyses of ship structure, stability, and marine engineering systems utilizing relevant Coast Guard and classification society standards. In addition, JMS employees may conduct vessel surveys and salvage engineering analysis in support of marine casualty response operations. Assigned tasks typically include:
Fulltime, career positions require an engineering degree in the marine field. Candidates should have familiarity with classification society standards, USCG regulations, and vessel design principles. Candidates must be able to efficiently organize and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Excellent communications and computer skills are required. In addition, any of the following qualifications are highly desirable:
